Investing for 5+ years increases your chances of positive returns compared to cash savings. But investments rise and fall in value, so you could get back less than you put in. You're responsible for your investment decisions.
Security First

Protect yourself from fraud

At 212 Trading, your security is our top priority. That's why we've created this guide to common fraud attempts and how to stay safe.

Common scams

Investment Fraud

What to look out for:

Promises of high returns with low risk, especially on social media platforms like Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok. This also includes fake advertisements featuring celebrities.

Protect yourself:

Always check if the investment firm is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority. Reputable investments do not guarantee profits and are rarely advertised on social media.

Impersonation

What to look out for:

Fraudsters often pose as employees of banks, the police, HMRC, a national crime agency, or even 212 Trading, and may also use spoofed phone numbers.

Protect yourself:

We will never ask you for money transfers or confidential data. If you receive an unexpected call, hang up and verify it via support@212trading.online or use the chat function in the app.

Phishing

What to look out for:

Emails or SMS that appear to come from reputable companies and ask for personal data. Anything that looks too good to be true usually is. Common signs include:

  • your email platform provider might flag the email with a warning banner
  • the sender's email address does not come from 212trading.online
  • the website link does not match 212trading.online

Protect yourself:

Check labels and sender addresses carefully. Never click on suspicious links.

Security Tips

Follow these essential practices to keep your account and funds secure.

1

Password Security

Never share your passwords: 212 Trading will never ask you for your account password. Ignore such requests and report them.

2

Manage Passwords

Use strong, unique passwords and change them regularly. Do not store your passwords on devices and use a password manager. Do not use the same passwords on multiple sites.

3

Device Security

Keep your devices up to date, consider using a VPN when using public Wi-Fi, and run regular virus scans.

4

Email Security

Your online accounts are only as secure as your inbox. Ensure your email account is well protected so hackers cannot use it to reset your passwords.
